I have done many talk radio interviews, some by telephone; others in the studio. Sometimes they are live on air with callers able to ask questions. As a guest with host endorsement the listeners knows that it is not a paid advertisement so credibility is strengthened exponentially. Talk radio shows need guests who have a message, guests with credentials. It is a great medium because of the dynamic reach and endless lifespan.

Since the interview is not “live”, one can have a chance to edit the talk, which is good. I’ve been interviewed many times for different reasons and on different stations, even countries, and on my last interview here in Carmel, we were live. I am not an American and have an accent, and never seem to finish my sentences, since my dear friends that I am always surrounded with interrupt on regular bases. One dear old friend, after listening to my live interview asked me:”Marija, you were so eloquent, we almost didn’t think it was you.”
To which I answered: “It was because there was not a flock of my chirpy friends around me to interrupt me!”
I think this could be the 10th reason; editing, so your guest can shine!
